About the Department
The Department was established in 2020 as one of the pre-clinical Departments in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. As a pre-clinical Department of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) programme, the Department is saddled with the responsibility of teaching and research in the elds of gross anatomy, histology, embryology, as well as comparative and applied anatomy.
The Department is endowed with highly sound and dedicated academics, laboratory technologists, administrative and supporting staff, which assists the Faculty in producing professionals worthy in character and sound judgment thereby contributing her quota in the realization of the vision of the University.
" Welcome to the Department of Veterinary Anatomy, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bayero University, Kano. Veterinary Anatomy is one of the basic subjects of the veterinary curriculum that deals with structure of the body of different animals including both gross and microscopic features. Anatomy is considered a cornerstone in human and veterinary medical education, as this basic science discipline provides a vital foundation on which to build the knowledge of the clinical practice of medicine. It is the Department that manages the teaching of Veterinary Anatomy as a pre-clinical course, in order to have students with moral and ethical knowledge which will lead to production of outstanding future Veterinarians.
